I started my career quite literally with my hands in the dough. Before patents, portfolios, or product pipelines, I was baking bread daily—learning the craft, understanding fermentation not as a theory, but as a living, breathing process. That hands-on foundation stayed with me as I moved into food science and innovation leadership roles across Portugal, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Over the last 18+ years, I’ve worked at nearly every level of the food and ingredients industry—from application specialist to category manager, from R&D coordinator to innovation lead for a €28M portfolio.
I’ve helped companies reformulate products for clean label demands, launch novel enzyme solutions, and navigate complex EU regulatory frameworks. I’ve written business cases that unlocked over €5M in funding and led teams that filed 6+ patents per year. At Ab Mauri, GB Plange, Orkla and Sonneveld, I saw firsthand how innovation, when well-structured and aligned with business goals, becomes a real growth engine.But I also saw the gaps—between R&D and commercial teams, between science and execution, between great ideas and real-world outcomes.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve built a deep understanding of the global food ingredients and processing landscape—spanning technologies, applications, market shifts, lessons from what didn’t work, and where new opportunities are emerging. With a foundation in food ingredient process technology and commercial leadership, I’ve developed a way of working that links what happens on the production floor to what creates value in the market. That blend of technical grounding and commercial instinct has taken me across bakery, dairy, beverages, and broader food systems.My career has consistently sat at the intersection of commercial strategy, application expertise, and cross-functional execution.
I began by moving from culinary and process training into enzyme-based bakery innovation at AB Mauri, where I first worked with Pedro.
In that fast-paced, international environment, we built a strong professional rhythm—shared standards, direct communication, and a focus on solutions that perform in the real world. That experience became a foundation for the broader global roles that followed..

After AB Mauri, I moved into global cheese development and technical sales at FrieslandCampina, supporting customers across EMEA and APAC—from mozzarella performance to key-account projects in QSR and industrial applications. Building on my commercial-technical approach, I stepped into roles requiring deeper customer engagement, wider category ownership, and the ability to translate market trends into practical, scalable solutions. Today, as Dairy Commercial Lead Europe at ICL Food Specialties, I lead a team across the EU, shape 1–3 year category strategy, convert market signals into customer opportunities, and help deliver solutions that create measurable value—commercially and technically.
